After my internship at a stained glass workshop i decided to experiment with the medium of the window for my pre-diploma project. I tried to speculate about what happens, if you are not forced to use traditional materials and techniques of stained glass windows anymore? What does it mean for the design, if the window is detached from the conventional use and requirements? Is it a window still, if it has lost its ability to define the line between an inside from an outside space? The 2 windows were a result of a form and material research i made during summer 2020.
Jade Hare is a font based on the book "Kachi Kachi Mountain––Japanese Fairytale Series No.5" from 1889, I drew a serif typeface with lots of bows and ligatures. You can see how it worked out in the re-design of the book I made. It´s a Japanese binding with illustrations on the inside of the pages.
This project was part of a seminar led by Dominik Huber and Reto Moser at HfGK.
